-- Certification Focuses on K-12 Classroom Teachers,
Online and Blended Teaching, and Innovative Leadership  --

WALNUT CREEK, CA (February 21, 2013) – Leading Edge Certification (LEC), a national Alliance of nonprofits, universities and educational agencies, will be part of the line-up of this year’sAnnual CUE 2013 Conference, the premier educational technology and professional development event taking place in Palm Springs from March 14-16. The two LEC sessions will feature an overview of Leading Edge Certification’s various programs for teachers and administrators, as well as a focus group featuring the newest certification, LEC’s Digital Educator, which will launch in July 2013.

“If you are a teacher – online or in a traditional classroom – or an administrator, Leading Edge Certification has taken a collective, hands-on approach to giving you the tools you need to be a part of today’s ever-changing educational landscape,” says Lainie Rowell, LEC Program Coordinator, who will lead both LEC sessions at the Annual CUE 2013 Conference. “Our program is national in scope, with a curriculum that has been rigorously developed.”

Ramsey Musallam, Ed.D, Lead Curriculum Designer for LEC Digital Educator, will join Rowell for the Thursday, March 14th presentation “Digital Educator Focus Group”, hosted by LEC Digital Educator Core Alliance member Santa Clara County Office of Education. The presentation will take place from 2-3pm in the Mesquite F room of the Palm Springs Convention Center.

Mike Lawrence, Founder of LEC and Executive Director of CUE, will join Rowell for the general session outlining LEC’s programs in “National Certification for Innovative Educators” on Saturday, March 16th from 12-1pm, also in the Mesquite F room of the Palm Springs Convention Center. 

This content, along with hundreds of other sessions, is part of the Annual CUE Conference, the oldest educational technology conference in California. Nearly 4,000 educators are expected to attend this year. Additional highlights of the conference include keynote speakersSir Ken Robinson, PhD, Kevin Honeycutt and Catlin Tucker.
